MISSION STATEMENTS

The mission of the YMCA of Greater Providence is to build healthy spirit, mind and body for all, through programs, services and relationships that are based upon our core values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility.
The vision of the YMCA of greater providence is to become the most valued resource for families and individuals seeking healthy lifestyles and wellness.
In my own words the mission statement for The YMCA of Greater Providence is that they exist to help individuals and families develop an active body, mind and spirit. The YMCA has programs and services to promote that. The core values are caring, honesty, respect and responsibility.  
I do not believe there is any problems with this mission statement. The values that this mission statement articulates are caring, honesty, respect and responsibility. I can agree with these values and they are good values for an individual to have.

According to the mission statement sample website a mission statement should be one sentence describing why the organization exists. The mission statement should be clear, concise, and useful. It should be 5-14 words 20 words maximum. With that being said I believe that the YMCA of Greater Providence Mission statement is too wordy.  I also believe that the words that are being used gets the point across and there are not any words that I had to look up.

    I really like your post and how you made it simple and short and I agree with how it's to wordy and it needs to be shorter. Your reasons on how to make it to the point is very helpful on you put that information on your blog, cause now Ill keep looking back on it for help.

Having to explain this chaotic world to a young person can be very challenging but adding race and politics can only add to that difficult conversation. The White Family foundation seeks to provide meaningful and strategic support for arts, education and healthcare non-profit organizations serving our communities to enable their long-term success in and achievement of their missions. Their values are community, courage, faith, integrity, and opportunity. This foundation started in the 1990’s with a family business with the leadership of John Jr., John Hazen White, and with his wife Mary Tefft White. PASA

Rebecca Petrarca is the AfterZone program manager for PASA. She oversees daily operations for the AfterZone (afterschool program). She manages the afterzone AmeriCorps program by supporting 20 AmeriCorps members who are involved in the AfterZone. She has been in many roles before being the program manager. She was a program support staff in the summer camp, she was then an assistant site coordinator and then the site coordinator for the AfterZone before taking the role of operations coordinator. Before she joined PASA she volunteered as a peer mentor at RIC Scholarships for Service Student Civic Fellows: AmeriCorps Program, working closely with the program leader to mentor ten college students in their completion of volunteer hours and documentation. Rebecca received a BA in english from RIC.
