Rebecca Petrarca is the AfterZone program manager for PASA. She oversees daily operations for the AfterZone (afterschool program). She manages the afterzone AmeriCorps program by supporting 20 AmeriCorps members who are involved in the AfterZone. She has been in many roles before being the program manager. Theory of change

One of the problems my internship is trying to solve is childhood obesity and to focus on a healthy lifestyle. I believe we achieve this by providing healthy food options for dinner and snack. For dinner we provide food that is USDA approved. And the same thing with snack. We also provides opportunities for exercise throughout week. On an average day we go to the gym and the kids play with balls and play tag. Once a week YMCA on the move comes and spends an hour with the kids. The goal of YMCA on the move is to engage the youth and families of Providence in health and wellness activities that increase their physical fitness and help them combat the growing epidemic of childhood obesity and other related illnesses while having fun in a safe, supervised environment. I think these are great ways to promote healthy living for youth. The theory of change is to solve childhood obesity and to achieve a healthy lifestyle.
